Libby tennis drops matches to Whitefish

The Libby Logger tennis teams were swept at home Monday by visiting Whitefish, one of the top programs in the state.

The Whitefish boys were the 2025 Montana Class A team champs while the girls squad was third overall.

The Loggers are hosting the Libby Invitational this weekend. Action begins at 1 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

In the boys, Whitefish won in straight sets in each match. Competing for Libby were No. 1 Silas Fosgate, No. 2 Zander Gassman, No. 3 Teague Thompson and No. 4 Jon Cano. Thompson had the most competitive match, dropping a 2-6, 4-6, decision.

In doubles, Libby saw competitors at No. 1 doubles, Blaise Erickson and Isaac Lamere, No. 2, Cole Sunell and Alex Reatz, No. 3, Dayton Hardy and Colby Iliff.

In the girls match, Whitefish won, 8-0, winning all in straight sets.

Singles players competing were No. 1 Claire Fantozzi, No. 2 Angie Bailey, No. 3 Lucy DeShazer and No. 4 Harmony Keller.

In doubles, Libby’s No. 1 team included Bella Meyer and Aubrey Davis, No. 2 had Shya Huck and Ashlenn James, No. 3 had Kayla Mesenbrink and Zoey Fosgate. The fourth duo included Izzy Paulsen and Autumn Konan.

Mesenbrink and Fosgate had the most competitive match in a 5-7, 1-6 loss.
