Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 day, 18 hours AGO
Protesters will gather for a “Honk & Wave” at U.S. 95 and Appleway Avenue from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today. They will join similar protests nationwide "to honor the legacy of past labor struggles and demand public investment in our lives, not billionaire’s bank accounts," a press release said.
"To demonstrate the power of the people, many of us will be refusing business as usual," the release continued. "No work. No school. No shopping."
Their demands, per the release:
• Tax the rich. Our families, not their fortunes, come first.
• No ICE. No war. No private army serving authoritarian power.
• Hands off our vote. Expand democracy, not corporate power.
"This nonviolent protest is part of a national movement demanding accountability and an end to corporate greed," the release said. "Join us in standing up for our future."
