The Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene will host its "Memories with Moms Brunch and Tea" for friends, families and neighbors May 9 at the conservatory in the historic Hamilton House on the corner of Government Way and Foster Avenue.

This will be the nonprofit’s fourth annual fundraiser to benefit its programs and scholarships for the underserved in the greater Coeur d’Alene community.

"Memories with Moms" offers an elegant occasion featuring live music, delicious delicacies and a silent auction. Faculty and students of the conservatory will perform instrumental and vocal numbers celebrating motherhood. The event will also feature a silent auction.

"As a nonprofit music school, we rely on the generosity of community members to help us sustain our operations, faculty and student programs," Executive Director Cynthia Newkirk said in a Monday news release.

She said those at the conservatory feel fortunate to make their home here in the historic Hamilton House, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

"This lovely building is the perfect setting to recreate the ambiance of bygone days when townsfolk would gather to enjoy the simple pleasures of dressing in garden attire and fancy hats while listening to beautiful music and partaking in a delicate meal and sipping fine tea,” Newkirk said. “This is a perfect opportunity to bring your mom, grandma, aunt, sister, daughter or any special mother figure for a heartwarming, memorable experience on Mother’s Day weekend, while supporting our mission of raising up the next generation of musicians for our community.”

Local small businesses are invited to contribute luxury items or gift certificates for the silent auction in exchange for recognition during the program. Email [email protected] or call 949-275-5898 for details.

Tickets for "Memories with Moms" event are $35 for adults, $20 for children younger than 16 and are available at cdaconservatory.org/events. Space is limited.
