PRIMARY: In support of Elaine Price
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 hours, 30 minutes AGO
Just because a representative or senator votes against a bill doesn’t mean they are opposed to an issue. A bill may be superfluous, doesn’t address a problem, or may cause unintended consequences. Rep. Elaine Price has been criticized for voting against House Bill 907, a career technical education appropriations bill. Recently, she clarified that she wasn’t against the program, but HB 907 was adding money to a program that was already fully funded. Elaine takes her job seriously and works to protect your money and not spend it unnecessarily.
Institutional knowledge is a critical asset in the private sector and the same can be said for the public arena. Elaine Price has served on the Joint Finance and Appropriation Committee for two years. JFAC is one of the most time-consuming committees. It consists of 20 elected officials who review, allocate, and vote on multiple departmental budgets from each state agency along with the governor. You should see how thick her budget binder is! Elaine’s experience and “math brain” is invaluable.
Price works cordially with her fellow legislators. Getting a bill to become law isn’t easy. You need your bill to make it into a committee, make it out of committee, make it to the floor of the House and then to the floor of the Senate. Needing a majority, you must convince at least 35 representatives, 18 senators, and the governor. No one person passes or kills a bill on their own.
Re-elect Elaine Price for state representative, District 4. Allow her to continue her good work. We need Rep. Price back in Boise.
