Eventually we will all need the services of the County clerk and recorder. Be it birth or death certificates, deed transfers, will and estate processing, or tracking and division of accurate land boundaries, we must rely on this office.

I worked at a state agency for almost two decades, interfacing with many Montana county clerks. If they're incompetent, it can be disastrous to both your transaction and all related future transactions. We are blessed here with our current Clerk's competence.

This year we'll elect a new clerk and recorder. I don't typically endorse candidates, but Sheena Sterling has my unqualified support. For 15 years I worked with her on everything from unprecedented state land projects to complex lease/deed transfer resolutions. Among all the counties I dealt with, Ms. Sterling stood out. She's competent, reliable, and responsive, consistently demonstrating the highest levels of ethics, fairness, and professionalism. She has extensive management experience and superb problem-solving skills, and she is the only candidate thoroughly experienced with the requisite technical land/legal regulations. As the deputy clerk and recorder, Ms. Sterling knows this position's critical duties better than anyone.

Remember, you are choosing who will manage the most important records of your life and those of generations to come. I urge you to vote for Sheena Sterling as our next Flathead County clerk and recorder.
