Woodward actually does the work

Scott Herndon is at it again — same lies via mailbox-stuffing, same obsessions that have nothing to do with North Idaho.

Herndon was born in Virginia, schooled in Arizona, and spent his career in San Francisco before moving here in 2004. Jim Woodward was born in Bonners Ferry, raised here, served 21 years as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, and came home to build a business and serve his neighbors.

While Herndon fixates on eliminating abortion with zero exceptions — even to save a mother's life — Jim has been fighting for our lake. He championed the University of Idaho study showing current Lake Pend Oreille management costs this region $44 million a year in lost tourism. He testified in Boise to extend our summer pool season and fix the Albeni Falls Dam gates. That's North Idaho work.

Herndon's claims about Jim are false. The drivers license vote? A study committee — no licenses issued. The girls' sports vote? Jim voted against a bill the Idaho Attorney General called legally defective. The abortion bill? Jim's own words: "an out-and-out lie."

One neighbor summed it up in this paper recently: Jim "works tirelessly on priorities that make our lives better," while his opponent focuses on "culture war issues he personally cares about."

That's the choice. A culture warrior from California, or a Bonner County native who actually does the work.

Re-elect Jim Woodward on May 19.
