MOSES LAKE — Former Washington State University quarterback and NFL player Ryan Leaf is coming to Moses Lake to speak on his journey through sports at a community event hosted by Grant County Community Court. The title of this event is called Ryan Leaf: The Road to Recovery and Redemption.
Leaf has been hired by ESPN to be a college football analyst, another step in the comeback of the former Washington State star who has battled drug addiction and served time in prison.
Leaf was the second pick in the NFL draft in 1998 but retired in 2002 after playing for four different teams. He battled substance abuse, and eventually was sentenced to prison in Montana for robbery and drug possession.
