David Nicholson

David Ross Nicholson, 81, of Vancouver, Wash., died on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2025, in Vancouver from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

He was born April 1, 1944, in Gooding, Idaho, to Clifford and Ruth Nicholson. There, he attended school and graduated from Gooding High School in 1963. In 1965, he entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam as a field radio repairman before receiving an honorable discharge in 1968.

Following his military service, David worked as an electrician, primarily in the irrigation industry, until his retirement in 2005. He was also an active amateur radio operator (ham), known by his call sign N7OFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ruth, his brothers, Roger and Neal, and his sister, Wanda.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rhonda of Battle Ground, Wash.; his sons Joseph (Karen) of Mukilteo, Wash., and Jeffery (December) of Battle Ground; his grandchildren, Astoria, Christopher (Emily), Caitlin, Justin, Kaylea, Michaela and Adrienne (Isaiah); and his great-grandchildren, Ren and Will. He is also survived by his in-laws, JoAnn Dunn, and Kay Mock; his nieces, Kim Ingram, Terri Masser, Shayla Dunn and Courtney Hiett; and his nephew, Jason Mock.

A celebration of life will be held May 17 at 1 p.m. at the Columbia North Mobile Estates Clubhouse, 14204 NE 10th Ave., Vancouver, Wash.
