LIBBY — Eureka’s Josh Lambertsen won five events and set the 400 meet record at the Lincoln County Meet held Tuesday at Logger Stadium.

Lambertsen swept the sprints, winning the 100 in 11.18 seconds, the 200 in 23.37 and in between ran the open 400 in 49.75. That broke the meet record of 50.65 set by Libby’s Jay Beagle in 2021, and ranks fourth in Class B. His 100 time was a PR and sits fifth.

The senior also won the high jump (6-0) and pole vault (12-0).

Three girls records were set as well, two of them by Libby sophomore Capri Farmer and the other by Eureka’s Kricket Bridges.

The sophomore Farmer won the 1,600 in 5:20.82 and the 3,200 in 11:26.30. Eureka’s Elizabeth Roodell ran the 1,600 in 5:23.99 in 1994; Roodell set the County 3,200 record of 11:38.23 in 1996.

Bridges, a senior, cleared 9 feet, 0 inches to win the pole vault. Karli Campbell of Eureka set the standard of 8-9 in 2024.

Eureka narrowly swept the team titles: The Lions won the boys with 86 points compared to 79 for Libby and 15 for Troy. The Eureka girls scored 80 points to 71 for Libby and 22 for Troy.

Eureka’s boys were helped by a hurdles sweep from sophomore Hunter Lessard. Libby’s Cody Watson (1,600 and 3,200) and Tristan Andersen (long jump, javelin) also won twice on the boys side.

Libby junior Hailey Meisner swept the girls sprints and set a personal record in the 100 at 12.91. That mark currently sits sixth in Class A.

Eureka’s Gabriele Wells won the shot put and discus and Troy’s Aspen Orr, a freshman, swept the long and triple jumps.

Lenz shines in Missoula

MISSOULA — It wasn’t a full squad of Flathead athletes that competed in a triangular meet at MCPS Stadium Tuesday, but some of them — like Bristol Lenz — made their mark.

Lenz hit her personal record in the long jump, marking 17 feet, 5.5 inches, and also won the 200 in 27.65. Her long jump ranks third in Class AA.

The unscored meet also saw Flathead’s Julia Kay win the 400 in 1:00.50, the eighth-best time in AA.  The other mark of note came from Bravette Alice Dolezal, who won the triple jump at 34-10.

Brynn Kossman won the shot put for Flathead. Akiyah Hardman took the 1,600 and the Bravettes also won the 400 relay.

Missoula Hellgate and Missoula Sentinel split the boys timed races, and no Flathead boy won an event Tuesday. The Braves’ Christopher Holland finished a close second to Isiah Hudson of Missoula Hellgate in the 800, finishing with a PR of 2:02.82.

The most notable boys mark came from Hellgate’s Evan Pyron, who threw the discus 155-8, a PR. He sits sixth in AA. .
