KELLOGG – The Silver Valley community will once again rally behind a familiar grassroots effort when the Silver Valley Cat Wranglers Auction returns Monday, May 13, beginning at 6 p.m.
For one night only, the Dirty Dog Saloon will undergo its annual transformation to the “Dirty Kitty Saloon,” hosting a silent auction to benefit local stray and abandoned cats. Bar owners Mike and Linda Kennaugh, along with manager Kyrsten Kennaugh, will donate the evening’s profits to the Cat Wranglers. Guests will also enjoy free pizza from Wildcat Pizza, provided by the bar.
Auction attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of donated items from local businesses and community members. Proceeds support the Silver Valley Cat Wranglers, a volunteer‑driven organization working to address the area’s growing stray cat population.
“Our mission is simple but vital: to ensure that every cat they rescue is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before being placed into a safe, loving home,” said Juli Zook, a longtime volunteer with the organization.
The auction serves as the group’s primary source of funding for the entire year. Funds raised help cover medical expenses and adoption efforts, with additional support from two local veterinary clinics.
“Every dollar raised goes directly toward medical care and adoption efforts—giving more cats the second chance they deserve,” Zook said.
Those unable to attend the event can still contribute. Donations may be mailed to Juli Zook, 517 Bunker Ave., Kellogg, ID 83837.
Community members interested in donating auction items, contributing funds or volunteering may contact Rene Gilbert at (208) 512‑2173 or Juli Zook at (208) 659‑1764.
