1933 - 2026 Hayden, Idaho

Arne Stanley Landaas passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on April 25, 2026, in Hayden, Idaho. Born on Nov. 4, 1933, in Orange, N.J., Stanley lived a life centered on faith, service, devotion to his family and community.

SIKKER I JESU ARME — SAFE IN JESUS' ARMS

Stanley earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He studied scripture at Fuller Seminary, Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical (TEDS) — a fearless foundation for a career that combined technical expertise with a heartfelt commitment to serving others.

From 1956 to 1959, Stanley served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. As a helicopter pilot aboard the USS Wasp, he demonstrated courage and dedication. Following his military service, he attended bible schools. He served with The Navigators (Colorado), Trans World Radio (Bonaire), Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) from 1968 to 1990 as an Amazon Jungle missionary pilot and Global Accountant. Retired from the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering in 2012.

Stanley found joy in reading God's Word and singing hymns and old radio jingles as he cared for people, great or small. Whether repairing vehicles or aircraft, tending his garden or soaring through the skies he loved so much, he prayerfully embraced life with gratitude and purpose.

Stanley is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Landaas; her children, Stephanie Stevens, Susan and Tom Moore, Chris and Maribel Ludlow; his children, Paul and Janet Landaas, Pamela Carpenter, Dawn Bennetts, Philip and Christina Landaas; along with their combined legacy of 29 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Eleanor Boyer and Doris Bjornsen (Alan). He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne Landaas.

In honor of Stanley's lifelong missionary service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, please make donations to Mission Aviation Fellowship (www.maf.org).

May Stanley Landaas' memory bring joy, comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

A private interment will be at Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home.
