The Greater Coeur d’Alene Community Foundation awarded $10,000 in Idaho Gives Community Prizes to six nonprofits serving the greater Coeur d’Alene area during a special drawing Tuesday.

“Strong board leadership helps fuel strong communities,” said Heidi Rogers, ICF board vice chair and a Coeur d’Alene resident. “These prizes recognize nonprofits whose boards lead with commitment and generosity during Idaho Gives.”

The community prize recognized eligible nonprofits serving Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Hayden Lake, Fernan Lake Village, Dalton Gardens and surrounding communities that achieved 100% board giving during Idaho Gives.

Qualified organizations entered a drawing, with prizes drawn from a $10,000 pool.

“This community prize was created to celebrate the nonprofits that care so deeply about North Idaho and the people they serve,” said Mary Sanderson, founding donor to the Greater Coeur d’Alene Community Foundation. “By honoring organizations whose boards are fully engaged, we’re reinforcing the importance of shared leadership and collective giving in building a stronger Coeur d’Alene area."

Idaho Gives, an ICF program, is the state’s largest giving campaign, empowering Idahoans to support the nonprofits that strengthen their communities.

The GCCF Community Prize was made possible through donors who believe in building a lasting, community-driven philanthropic resource for the greater Coeur d’Alene area, a press release said.

"Idaho Gives is more than four days of giving. It’s a reminder of how deeply folks care about their communities,” said Kevin Bailey, VP of Impact and the Nonprofit Center at the Idaho Community Foundation. “Every donation, no matter the size, creates a ripple effect of positive change across our state."
