Tina Denise Heitstuman, 60
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 day AGO
Tina Denise Heitstuman, a beloved mother, sister and friend, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity and deep community roots. Born on Sept. 29, 1965, Tina was raised in Rathdrum, Idaho, the cherished daughter of Cherry Phelps and Norman Heitstuman.
A proud graduate of Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Tina went on to pursue her passion for cosmetology at Headmasters School of Cosmetology. There, she distinguished herself through exceptional hairstyling talent, earning multiple awards and the admiration of her peers and instructors. Her passion became her life’s work when she opened Salon TLC in Rathdrum, where she built not just a business, but a welcoming space filled with laughter, friendship and care for her clients and community.
On July 26, 1991, Tina married Larry Pluid, and together they built a life centered on love and family. She was a devoted mother to their three sons: Larson Edward Pluid, Norman Connor Pluid and Troy Joseph Pluid, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Tina was deeply rooted in her community and gave back in meaningful ways. She played an instrumental role, along with her sister, Sue, in helping bring the Rathdrum skate park to life, leaving a lasting impact on generations of local youth. She embraced the beauty of North Idaho, spending time outdoors, traveling and gardening. She also had a passion for hairstyling that extended far beyond her profession — it was an art she loved. A devoted NASCAR fan, Tina was known for her spirited personality and her playful “need for speed.”
She is survived by her parents, Norman and Cherry Heitstuman; three sons: Larson Pluid (Katelyn Langlitz), Norman Pluid (Brittany Pluid) and Troy Pluid; her siblings: Susan Riddle (Wayne), Rodney Heitstuman (Susie) and Daniel Heitstuman (Veronica); her grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Tina will be remembered for her generous heart, vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created. Please join us at her celebration of life May 17 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Rathdrum City Park.
