Brush fire closes Hwy 24
OTHELLO — A large brush fire has broken out along Highway 24 near Hendrix Road south of Othello. The area is currently being blocked off while fire crews work to put out the flames. Alternative routes are advised until the fire has been extinguished. This is a developing story and updates will be made as they become available.
Vehicle fire sets two cars ablaze
MOSES LAKE — A vehicle fire destroyed one car and ignited a second one on Parkway Avenue Northeast in Moses Lake early Friday morning.
Knights claim district win over Okanogan
ROYAL CITY — The Royal Knights (14-1-2) got the best of Okanogan Thursday evening with a 2-1 victory as they move on to the next round of the district tournament. The game was tight in the beginning, but the offensive efforts from the Knights allowed them to claim a win. “It was competitive; we had a close game,” said Knights junior Brayan Miron. “We had a couple of mistakes, but we got back and we just fought to the end.”
