Dan Lee Giles, age 58, of Polson, passed away April 18, 2026, in Polson.
Dan was born March 14, 1968, in Seattle, Wash., to Larry D. Giles and Judith A. Giles, both of whom preceded him in death.
Dan proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an E-5 AS2 and was a Gulf War veteran. Following his military service, he worked as a foreman with Cement Masons Local 242 in Bellevue, Wash., and later served as the maintenance director for Polson School District, where he was known for his dedication, reliability and willingness to go above and beyond for his school and community.
A loyal husband, father, brother and friend, Dan was known for his hardworking spirit, servant’s heart, dependability, humor and easygoing nature. He loved playing guitar, and in previous years leading worship and youth ministry.
He loved watching UFC and also loved the outdoors and found joy in riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, and snowmobiles, as well as hunting, fishing, and camping. Above all, Dan was deeply devoted to his wife, family and community.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Wendi Giles (Brewer); his daughter, Legend A. Love, formerly known as Nicole A. Giles (Nick); his son, Shad A. Giles; and his brother, Donald E. Giles.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, with Veteran Honors at the Polson Cemetery at noon, and then sharing of memories together at the Polson High School Auditorium at 2 p.m. with a potluck reception to follow in the foyer. Guests are invited to dress casually in Dan’s personal style.
