FVCC Student Research Showcase highlights student innovation, arts and STEM

Flathead Valley Community College hosts its annual Student Research Showcase on Friday, May 8 in the Arts & Technology Building, featuring a full day of student presentations, performances and demonstrations.
The showcase brings together students from across disciplines, including honors, STEM, fine arts, theater and technology, to present their work through posters, oral presentations, performances and live demos. Community members and prospective students are encouraged to attend.
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony featuring 2025 Nobel Laureate Fred Ramsdell, Ph.D., who will help recognize outstanding student work. Ramsdell, an immunology leader who began his academic journey at a community college, will share in celebrating the next generation of scholars.
Student artwork will be on display all day.
From 10 a.m. to noon, 10-minute plays will be performed by the Honors “Science on Stage” class.
Poster presentations by STEM and Honors research students will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The Inspirational Intermission at 1:30 p.m. features Honors Program founder Ivan Lorentzen.
Oral presentations are from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and graphic arts, robotics and computer science demonstrations run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
A transfer session for prospective students is 4-4:30 p.m.
