The local community orchestra has grown to 50 musicians and hopes to inspire Boundary County on Sunday afternoon, May 17, at 3 p.m. at BFHS Becker Auditorium with a wide variety of musical selections.

“Imagine your favorite movie, your most treasured season of nature, the quote that has motivated you during challenging times, the book you have enjoyed more than any other, along with those people whose lives have inspired you and taught you how to weather the storms of life. These are the topics that have been set to music for the upcoming concert.” director Glenda Novinger said.

Auditions were held in April for a soloist to sing with the orchestra on “You Raise Me Up,” and tenor Van Stonehocker was selected. The youth choir from Tiny-Seeds-to-Mighty-Oaks will be singing the theme song from “The Prince of Egypt” — “When You Believe” — accompanied by the orchestra. “How to Train Your Dragon,” from the motion picture, will be easily recognized by the younger members of the audience. The string section will perform “Adagio,” a lovely Baroque piece by Tomaso Albinoni. Additional music includes “Legacy,” “Uplifted,” “Into the Storm,” “The Iliad” and “Gravitas,” a full range of styles and moods.

This concert is free to the public; donations will be accepted. These local musicians invite you to enjoy an afternoon of encouragement, hope, and inspiration.
