James "Jammer" Allen Moore, 74, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Whitefish.
He was born on July 7, 1951, in Japan. He lived a life shaped by service, hard work, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. He proudly served for four years in the military, including a tour during the Vietnam War.
In 2004, James moved to Montana, where he began working at Iron Horse Golf Course. It was there that he built not only a career, but a life he truly loved. In 2008, he met the love of his life, Carolyn, while she was working as a card dealer at a local casino. They fell in love after their very first date, and from that moment on, James knew Montana was home.
James had a passion for fishing, bowling, baseball and golf. Whether he was casting a line, hitting the lanes, watching a game, or out on the course, he found joy in the simple things and in sharing those moments with the people he loved. He will be remembered for his big heart, his easygoing spirit and the lasting impact he had on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Moore of Whitefish; his son, Randy Moore of Montana; and his daughter, Brooke Moore of Washington. He is also survived by his siblings, Carl Moore, Debbie Jacobs, and Donnie Moore, all of Washington.
A celebration of life will be held from noon-3 p.m. on May 17 at the Hidden Moose Lodge in Whitefish.
James will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. We take comfort in imagining him now — peaceful, with a fishing line in the water and a perfect round of golf ahead.
