The Polson Police Foundation (PPF) recently received more than $8,500 in grant funding through Glacier Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund, supporting critical community safety and development initiatives in Lake County.
“This funding will directly support multiple ongoing Polson Police Foundation programs, including community education and first responder support efforts,” said foundation representative Brady Phenicie.
As part of these initiatives, PPF has already allocated funds toward the purchase of cybersecurity education materials that will be distributed to all sixth-grade students in Polson on May 8. These materials are designed to improve digital safety awareness and protect local families from growing online threats.
In addition, the funding strengthens the foundation’s long-term goal of establishing a First Responder Wellness Center to serve law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch personnel across Lake County. According to Phenicie, the center will provide resources focused on mental health, training, and recovery – “critical components for sustaining those who serve the community every day.”
“This funding allows us to take real, measurable steps toward improving both community safety and first responder wellbeing here in Polson,” he said.
The Member Impact Fund, administered by FHLB Des Moines, provides matching grants through member financial institutions like Glacier Bank to support affordable housing and community development initiatives. This partnership helps local organizations expand their reach and increase their impact.
