Family  

Married to Jacquie Hodgman-Richter. Jacquie graduated from KHS just as her father, Paul Hodgman, did. Her mother, Barbara, retired from Barney’s Harvest Foods in Pinehurst. We have 4 children, all of whom were educated in the Kellogg School District. The oldest is a Chemist working for the US Navy, the second is a kitchen manager at Cascadia in Kellogg, the third is a Detention Deputy working at Shoshone County Jail, and the fourth is a barista for two coffee stands. 

Education  

Advanced Peace Officer Certification from Idaho POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Academy, 1028 POST training hours, 51 Semester Credit hours, North Idaho College. Retired US Navy Chief, Active Duty 6 years, qualified on two types of Nuclear Submarines. Served in the US Navy Reserves for 18 years, including being recalled to Active Duty three times after the 9-11 attacks, two years of which were spent in Kuwait. As a firearms instructor, my teams trained Sailors on small arms, crew-served machine guns, building entry, vehicle and personnel searches, crowd control, and many other topics depending on the mission requirements. In charge of inventory, maintenance, and security of over 750 firearms, and over a million rounds of ammunition, including monthly and annual reports to supervisory commands. 

Professional and Civic Experience  

Chief of Police for the City of Pinehurst for almost 4 years. Submitted budgets for approval, working with the Mayor, City Council, Clerk, and Street Department to identify priorities and plan solutions. Worked with the Drug Task Force to target, investigate, and arrest individuals using and selling drugs. Over 30 firearms were recovered (many identified as stolen), and drugs were removed from circulation. Worked with Pinehurst Elementary to promote bike safety and improve family relationships with Law Enforcement
