Five wins by Eureka senior Josh Lambertsen was just enough to carry the Lions to a team title Tuesday at the Lincoln County Meet at Logger Stadium in Libby.
Lambertsen also set the meet record in the 400-meter run as the Lions won the boys crown with 86 points. Libby had 79 and the Troy Trojans scored 15.
Lambertsen’s 49.75 seconds in the 400 broke the meet record of 50.65 set by Libby’s Jay Beagle in 2021. He also won the high jump (6-0) and pole vault (12-0).
Eureka won 12 of 17 events.
The Loggers had a pair of double winners - senior Tristan Andersen and junior Cody Watson. Watson dominated in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. He’s already qualified for the Class A state meet in both events.
Andersen won the javelin with a throw of 151 feet, 9 inches, and the long jump (19-2 1/4). He was second in the long jump, too, and third in the 100.
The Loggers also got a win by sophomore Porter Hollingsworth with his personal best triple jump of 38 feet, 2 1/2-inches.
Logger junior Ledger Fortner placed second in four events - the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
Senior Gabe Kosters placed third in the 200 and javelin. He was fourth in the 200. Senior Urijah Bache was second in the javelin and third in the pole vault.
For Troy, junior Michael Gillespie placed second in two events, including the 200 and triple jump. He was third in the long jump.
Trojans junior Conner Powell was second in the shot put and discus,
Libby and Troy will compete Saturday in the Archie Roe meet at Kalispell.
