What do you see as the primary responsibilities of a precinct committeeman, and why are you interested in serving in this position?   

The primary responsibilities of a precinct committeeman (PC), in my opinion, is being that link between the voters in a precinct and a political party.  These elected volunteers represent voters in that precinct to share with their respective political parties.  Their main responsibility is sharing information between voter and central committee officers and getting people to the polls to exercise their right to vote. 

I grew up in southern Idaho and moved here in 2005 when I began working for the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.  I’ve been employed by the sheriff’s office for nearly 21 years and also worked EMS with Kellogg Community Ambulance and Shoshone County Fire District #2 for a total of 20 years and 18 years as an EMT.  When I first voted in a local election, I saw no republicans on the ballot and if I wanted to have my say, I had to register as a democrat.  Recently, members of the Republican Party have started leveling the playing field in Shoshone County and I feel I need to return to the party that aligns with my personal beliefs. 

How would you work to engage voters, support party organization, and represent your precinct’s concerns at the county or district level?  

I would do what I could to remind and encourage voters in the Kellogg precinct to exercise their constitutional right to vote.  I would do my best to act as voice for GOP members in the Kellogg precinct and provide that voice to the officers of the Shoshone County Republican Central Committee.
