What do you see as the primary responsibilities of a precinct committeeman, and why are you interested in serving in this position?  

Precinct Committeemen/Women (PCs) are the CORE of the Republican Party. They are the link between the public and our government. They are elected by the people in their precinct and represent them at the County level, Legislative District (LD), State level as delegates and the National level, also as delegates to the National Convention (RNC). PC’s are the voice of “We The People” within the Party.  

The PC role is to build and strengthen the Republican Party from the grassroots up, assist in the election of Republican candidates, and promote the Republican platform. They are the Republican Party’s direct link with the voters in their neighborhood, informing them of legislative issues, election procedures, ballot issues, and laws and relaying citizen concerns to party officials and elected Legislators. PCs set the stage for the success of the Republican Party election process. 

How would you work to engage voters, support party organization, and represent your  precinct’s concerns at the county or district level?

With 20 years involvement with the Shoshone County Republican Central Committee (SCRCC) and coming off a 2-year sabbatical, I feel the need to resume my involvement to assure the SCRCC adheres to the Constitution of the United States and maintains integrity and conservative/ethical values as set forth in the Republican Platform. The PC position needs to be taken seriously and involves hard work, time and commitment. I will continue to inform citizens in my precinct through social media, email and phone calls. Fellow Republicans are always encouraged to attend SCRCC meetings and contact their Precinct.
