U.S. Sen. Tim Sheehy honored the members of Troy Power and Light Monday, May 4, 2026, for their work during the weather-related disasters that occurred in December 2025 and March 2026. Pictured are Sheehy, Clay Campbell, Sterling Alexander and Jon Devore. 

TPL Manager Clay Campbell said he really appreciated the recognition. 

"It was kinda weird to be honored for doing our job, but we'll take it," Campell said. "It's not every day we get recognized."

Campbell said the first night of the wind storm, Dec. 11, TPL crews worked 20 hours straight and had 90% of customers back on line.

"After two days, it was up to 99% and after three days, everyone's power was restored," Campbell said. "We keep the dam running and everyone's lights on here, we're just thankful there wasn't two feet of snow and 20 degrees."

Campbell said during the March power outage, Bonneville Power had scheduled an outage at the same time, but his crews had everything ready to go back online when the scheduled outage was over.

He added that the TPL is seeking a grant to upgrade the electric meters in Troy.
