Community invited to help place Memorial Day flags

BONNERS FERRY — The American Legion in Bonners Ferry, Post 55, is seeking help from community members to place American flags on the graves of deceased veterans at Grandview Cemetery on May 22, the Friday before Memorial Day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

After Memorial Day, volunteers will return Tuesday, May 26, to collect the flags beginning at 8 a.m. until completion. Cemetery committee Chairman Robert Rains said collecting the flags is just as important as placing them. 

Before the flag placement begins, participants will gather near the pavilion at the cemetery.
