Erie Joe “Rusty” Maynard

Erie Joe “Rusty” Maynard, aka Papa, was born on Aug. 27, 1934, in West Virginia and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2026.
A broken man captivated by The Shepherd in 1965, Rusty lived a life of hospitality and generosity in the service to others seeking The One, who rescued him.
He is survived by his children, Christine Tallmadge and son-in-law, Stan, Jennifer Giesbrecht and son-in-law, Brian, Stephenie Garcia and son-in-law, Arnold, Mark Maynard and daughter-in-law, Mora, Paula Garcia and son-in-law, Leo, and Matt Maynard and daughter-in-law, Eve, 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Rusty is now free from the travails of this world and joins his “Wonder Woman” Joan at the feet of their Jesus.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2026, at Grace Bible Church, Kerrville, Texas.
Private burial will at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Wright’s Funeral Parlor, Kerrville, Texas
