Joan Elaine Clough (Heisel), beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully from Dementia complications on April 13, 2026 at the age of 82 in Kalispell, Montana. 

Joan was born in Gatesville Texas, Sept. 20, 1943, and grew up in western Montana spending many years in Libby. After retiring from the Lincoln County Court House she pursued her passion for quilting, volunteering at the library and Community Thrift Store. She will be remembered for her giving and gentle spirit. 

Joan is survived by her two children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George. A joint celebration of George and Joan’s life will be held at Libby City Cemetery, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, Libby, Montana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory. May her soul rest in peace.
