Lincoln County Credit Union (LCCU) announced May 5 that it has received approval from both the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the Montana Division of Banking and Financial Institutions (DBFI) to move forward with a member vote regarding its proposed merger with Park Side Credit Union.
This approval marks an important step in the process and allows LCCU to begin formally communicating with members about the proposed merger and the upcoming vote.
“Our Board of Directors has spent considerable time evaluating the future of the credit union and the best path forward for our members,” said Jon Reny, Chair of the Board of Directors. “We are pleased to reach this milestone and look forward to sharing detailed information with our members so they can make an informed decision.”
In the coming weeks, members will receive an official Member Notice and ballot, which will include detailed information about the proposed merger, key considerations and instructions on how to participate in the voting process.
Members will have ample time to review the materials, ask questions and cast their vote.
If approved by the membership, the proposed merger would bring together Lincoln County Credit Union and Park Side Credit Union to create a stronger, more capable financial institution, while maintaining a commitment to serving the communities of Libby and Troy.
“This process is about transparency and member choice,” Reny added. “We encourage all members to review the materials when they arrive and participate in the vote.”
Additional information will be made available through the credit union’s website and branch locations as the process moves forward.
