Dalton James Magallon, 35, of Spokane Valley, Wash., passed away May 2, 2026, in the loving arms of his mother, Billie. Dalton was born Nov. 12, 1990, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. Dalton grew up in Idaho and graduated from Moscow High School in 2011.

Dalton was born with cerebral palsy; however, he did not let that define him. As a child, Dalton participated in skiing, basketball, bowling and baseball.

At the age of 5, Dalton lost his speech. He taught many people that words didn’t need to be spoken in order to communicate. Being non-verbal didn’t mean Dalton didn’t have anything to say; it just meant you had to listen with more than just your ears.

Dalton also enjoyed food, swimming, camping, being Uncle Dalty, spending time with family and friends, especially his best friend Talia, and, of course, his mom, Billie, who spent the last 35 years caring, loving and advocating for Dalton.

Dalton is survived by his mother, Billie J. Strouse; his brother, Drew Magallon, and sister-in-law, Kassi Kaschmitter; their four children: Ivy, Frankee, Palmer and Roxie Magallon; his sister, Mattea Strouse Cleveland, and her two children, Omare and Dior Cleveland; and grandparents Marvin and Shirley Strouse.

Dalton was a pure light of joy and a complete reflection of love. He was so dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Dalton’s graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.

Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Dalton’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
