Landon Richards and George Hanson with the boys, and Ava White and Maryisa Swope with the girls; four names followers of the Superior track and field teams are becoming very familiar with.

Superior’s fearsome foursome of high-scoring athletes were all over it again at the Kim L. Haines meet at MCPS Stadium in Missoula Saturday as the Bobcat boys scored 54 points in the 17-team meet and the Lady Cats tallied 30.

The leading high jumper in Montana in any classification with a previous jump of 6-8, Richard cleared 6-6 Saturday to win that event, in addition to taking third in the 110 meter hurdles and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles.

The new school record holder in the pole vault with a mark of 14-3 set a few weeks ago, Hanson cleared 13-0 to win the event in Missoula.

Gannon Quinlan won fifth place in the pole vault to close out scoring for the Bobcat boys. Turner Milender tied for eighth in the pole vault to just miss placing. The 400 meter relay team of Quinlan, Milender, Richards and Hanson also finished eighth in that race.

With the Lady Cats, White continued her outstanding spring of track and field by winning second in both hurdles races, third in the pole vault and just missing placing in the 200 meters, finishing seventh in that race.

Swope did White one better, winning the javelin with a throw of 109-2.5, and finishing second in the pole vault (clearing 10-0).

Karissa Pearce won third place in the 800 meters, Madi Allard fourth in the triple jump and Pearce, Miekolani Ruthford, Allard and White joined forces to win fourth place in the 1600 meter relay. Freshman Gia Beaudoin narrowly missed placing in the triple jump finishing seventh with a personal best effort of 28-7.

Several eighth grade girls also competed for Superior in the KLH meet and just missed placing in several events. Among the names gleaned from the meet results were Olivia White, Liliana Rudolph, Penelope White and Nichole Shope.
