Columbia Falls pounded the rival Whitefish Bulldogs last Thursday on senior night.

Seniors Bella Mann, Kyler Gietzen, and Chevelle Bedford along with the rest of team had the Dogs heading back to the pound with a loss of 18-3.

The Kats remain undefeated at 7-0 in conference play and are 11-5 overall heading into the final two weeks of regular action.

Onnikka Lawrence carried her momentum and strong performance at the plate from last week’s matchup into this game.  She went an impressive 4-for-4 and drove in 5 RBIs, including a triple and a double.  Kendyl Moultray also delivered an outstanding performance at the plate, racking up three hits and driving in six runs.

Sophomore pitcher Ella Branstetter took the lead in the circle and would claim the win on the evening.

She’d throw for 4-1/3- innings and rack up four strikeouts and just two hits with no runs earned.  Lawrence closed out the game for the Kats.  She’d allow three earned runs on four hits.

“Busy week as we play Ronan on Tuesday in Ronan, and Polson here on Thursday, rescheduled from a snow out.  Both are big conference games.  Then, we head to Butte to play Dawson County and Fergus on Friday and Lockwood and Billings Central on Saturday.

“Hoping we keep hitting the ball hard and limiting errors.  Team has been doing a good job of that this last couple of weeks,” said head coach Rick Lawrence.

The last time the Kats faced Ronan, it was a close contest with Columbia Falls narrowly defeating the Maidens 9-8.  The Polson game will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
