Polson baseball pulls away from Bigfork late

BIGFORK — Cody Haggard hit the go-ahead single in the seventh and tossed 5 1-3 innings on the mound as Polson defeated Bigfork 9-4 Tuesday in a Northwest A matchup.
Haggard finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate for Polson (11-7) with a pair of runs and one RBI. He fanned six on the mound, allowing four runs on three hits.
Liam Jackson added a perfect 1 2-3 innings, fanning all five batters he faced.
Polson led 2-0 after Cole Wadsworth’s third inning solo home run.
After Polson took a 4-2 lead, Bigfork (10-4) tied the game up in the sixth thanks to a wild pitch that scored Hayden Mayer and an error that brought Calvin Wiest home.
After Haggard gave the Pirates the lead, Hunter Luedtke added another run on a single to right field. Brayson DuMont then reached on a bunt that saw three more Pirates come home on a throwing error to make it 9-4.
MAC 13, Ronan 3
ST. IGNATIUS — Ronan took a 3-0 lead over Mission-Arlee Charlo in the fifth inning, but the Bulldogs put up 13 over the next two innings to take the win.
Everett Lozeau hit a first inning single to give Ronan (1-15) the lead, scoring Brodee Woll. Blaine Dupuis made it 2-0, scoring Lozeau on a fielder’s choice.
Joseph Fulwiler made it 3-0 in the fifth with an RBI single.
Ronson Hout gave MAC (4-12) the lead with a two-run single to left as the Bulldogs plated 10 in the fifth inning.
Three more runs came home in the sixth to give MAC the walk off win.
Kenner Mock threw four no-hit innings for the Chiefs, striking out three and walking five.
Libby 2, Noxon 0
LIBBY — Branson Holzer delivered an RBI triple in the fifth to break a 0-0 deadlock and Libby got a complete game shutout from Boe Miles to defeat Noxon.
Holzer came home on a sacrifice fly from Kale Riddle to make it 2-0 Libby (6-9).
Miles fanned 14 batters and allowed just three hits on the game. He walked a pair.
Noxon (3-12) got a three-hit showing from a trio of pitchers: Tyler Barton allowed two runs on two hits in 1 1-3 innings. Justice Kayser added three innings of one-hit work, while Michael Koskela tossed 1 2-3 innings without allowing a hit.
