Warriner’s huge day leads Pack to sweep

GREAT FALLS — Have a day, Olivia Warriner.

The junior pitcher threw a complete game Tuesday and backed her work in the circle with a 4-for-4 performance that included three doubles in a 15-3 win over Great Falls High. 

She wasn’t done: She added a double, triple and home run as the Wolfpack beat Great Falls CMR 8-3 to complete a doubleheader sweep.  

Glacier left the Electric City with a 15-3 mark; the Pack’s next action is a road game at Missoula Sentinel on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Warriner, who scored four runs, and Taeler Holt hit back-to-back doubles in a three-run first inning, and the Pack was on their way.  

Ava Grady had an RBI single in the first, hit another in a three-run fifth and thumped a two-run double in the seventh. She finished with five RBIs. 

Taelor Holt hit a two-run single in the second for Glacier; Tensley Conner hit a leadoff homer in the third inning. In the fifth Karley Allen hit an RBI triple and came in on Warriner’s third double for a 9-1 lead. 

Addy Cunningham had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice. 

In the circle Warriner allowed nine hits and three walks. She struck out eight.

Ava Grady went the distance in the circle in this one, allowing eight hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. 

CMR (13-7-1) struck for five hits and three runs in the seventh, but it wasn’t nearly enough.  

Warriner hit a triple and scored on Holt’s single in the first inning, and then the Pack sent 11 hitters to plate in a seven-run second. 

Warriner keyed the charge with a three-run home run, her seventh this season, to make it 4-0. Holt and Grady followed with back-to-back doubles to make it 5-0 and Conner hit a two-run double and came in on Addy Cunningham’s single to cap the uprising.
