Whitefish softball earns first victory of the season

The Whitefish softball team slid earned their first victory with gusto as they recorded 19-0 against Browning last Tuesday, May 5.
Elliot Gallagher struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Gallagher went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Vanora Carpenter went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs and one triple. Charlei Walz was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base and two RBI.
Whitefish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786.
The Bulldogs followed their win with a loss to Columbia Falls on Thursday. The Cats won 18-3, beating the Dogs for the sixth matchup in a row.
Elyse Sharpnack played strong, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run and one double.
Jaylynn Johnson went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI and one run
Whitefish's loss dropped their record to 1-9. Up next is a home game against Polson today, May 13 at 4:30 p.m. followed by the Butte Invite this weekend.
