Young’s single lifts C-Falls over Flathead

COLUMBIA FALLS — Nico Young singled in the seventh to give Columbia Falls an exciting walk off comeback victory over Flathead 10-9 in high school baseball Tuesday. 

Hunter Fann’s sacrifice fly in the fifth put Flathead (7-11) up 9-4, but then Columbia Falls started its comeback. 

Jett Pitts scored for Columbia Falls on a wild pitch to make it 9-5 in the fifth. 

Next inning, Pitts hit a bases-clearing single that cut the Wildcats (12-4) deficit to 9-8. Tristan Victor then tied the game on a double that scored Pitts from second. 

Young stepped in with two outs in the seventh and hit a hard grounder to right that sent Caden Fisher home from second to end the game. 

Micah Engle led the Braves with three RBIs, going 1-for-4 at the plate. His three-run double highlighted an 8-run fourth that put Flathead up 8-4. 

Greyson Smith went 4 1-3 innings for Flathead, allowing five runs on five hits. He fanned one. Tyson Franchini-White added 2 1-3 innings in relief. 

Columbia Falls got 3 2-3 innings from Lincoln Fisher, allowing two runs on six hits. Zeke Dunn finished out the game with 3 1-3 innings, striking out seven.
