In Loving Memory of Anna Mindt

Anna Mindt, beloved mom, grandma, family member and friend, passed away early Sunday morning on May 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that touched everyone she met.

Anna was known for her generous and kind spirit, her unwavering support for those she loved, and her passion for caring for her family!

Throughout her life, Anna brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Anna was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Rex and Lonie Smelser. Her family moved throughout the Midwest before settling in Sidney, Mont.

Anna met Del, and they married on Dec. 29, 1957. Within five years, they had four children and an active household. The family spent considerable time fishing and camping, often going on outings every weekend.

After relocating to several towns across Montana, they eventually settled in Polson on Rocky Point Road. Summers on Flathead Lake were particularly enjoyable for the family, and Anna frequently hosted gatherings for relatives and friends.

She worked in bookkeeping positions and assisted with operations at the Country Store. After their children left home, the couple continued to travel, fish, and enjoy positive relationships with their neighbors.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Nora Templer (Brian); her daughter-in-law, Tanya Mindt; and seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Del Mindt; daughters Tana Mindt and Patti Gohl; son Monte Mindt; and granddaughter Brook Thomas.

One thing I am deeply grateful for, as her daughter, is that even though dementia took so much away, it could never take Jesus from my mom’s spirit. Even when her memories faded and conversation became difficult, she could always tell me who lived in her heart whenever I asked. I find comfort knowing she is now reunited with family in heaven and joyfully dancing with her Savior.

Details for the memorial service will be shared soon.
