A GoFundMe has been launched to support Chad Kimball after what organizers describe as a diagnosis of a rare and aggressive cancer.

According to GoFundMe campaign organizer Kendra Verzier, Kimball was recently diagnosed with biliary adenocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer affecting the bile ducts.

The fundraiser states Kimball is exploring specialized treatment options, including care outside the United States, that are not covered by insurance and involve significant travel and medical expenses.

Many in Boundary County know Kimball through the Naples General Store, where organizers said he has long been recognized as someone willing to help others.

“He’s the kind of person who shows up, always willing to help, fix, build, or lend a hand,” Verzier said on the fundraiser’s campaign page.

So far, the fundraiser raised more than $20,000 of its $35,000 goal with more than 100 donations. The funds will help relieve financial pressure so the Kimballs can focus on treatment and time with family, according to the campaign.
