A 22-year-old accused of causing more than $1,500 in damage to the downtown Whitefish parking garage last summer earned a deferred sentence as part of a deal that required him to pay restitution.
Bridger Jackson David initially faced a felony count of criminal mischief in Flathead County District Court in the wake of the June 28, 2025 incident in Whitefish. He entered a not guilty plea before Judge Amy Eddy on July 17.
But David struck a deal with prosecutors in October that saw him agree to plead guilty to an amended charge count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. In exchange for the guilty plea and a promise to pay $4,652.92 in restitution, prosecutors agreed to recommend he receive a deferred six-month sentence.
David changed his plea during an Oct. 28 court appearance and Eddy, who stuck to the terms of the agreement, handed down his sentence that same day. She gave David credit for three days of time served and ordered him to pay $585 in court fines and fees.
David paid the restitution in full prior to sentencing, according to court documents.
David's legal troubles began after Whitefish Police officers were summoned to the parking garage to aid two people stuck inside the facility's elevator and found a broken glass door nearby, court documents said. Surveillance footage allegedly captured David kicking the glass door.
