Plains softball downs Eureka

EUREKA — Montana Taylor and Randi Kilgore drove in three runs each and Plains built a 15-2 lead on the way to a 15-8 softball win over Eureka Wednesday. 


Two singles, three walks, a passed ball and error in the first inning let the Trotters (7-7) take a 4-0 lead they never relinquished.  Kilgore’s two-run double put Plains up 7-1 in the second inning; Taylor Saner’s two-run triple was the key hit in a six-run third inning that made it 12-1. 


Taylor hit a two-run single in the fourth.  


Bri Kulawinski when the distance in the circle for Plains, allowing 11 hits, 1 walk and five earned runs. She fanned seven. 


Lily McAfee had three hits, including two doubles, and Maren Lytle drove in three runs for Eureka (4-15). McAfee, Laina Conard, Tessa Seiler and Dakota Witham all scored twice. Sieler hit a triple and Witham had a double.
