A five-time state qualifier and a three-time district champion, Schmit, a sprinter, holds personal bests of 10.79 seconds in the 100-meter dash, which ranks as No. 2 all-time in school history, and 22.18 seconds in the 200-meter dash, which ranks as fourth. Also a four-time district silver medalist, Schmit was a part of this year's 4x100 (41.82) and 4x200 (1:27.35) relays that both broke school records.
