Stickney, Nyman, Anderson lead Flathead's 11-0 rout

Lily Anderson and Olivia Nyman homered, June Stickney threw a five-inning one-hitter and Flathead romped to an 11-0 win over Missoula Hellgate in Western AA softball Thursday.

Tegan Strauss had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three times from her leadoff spot for the Bravettes (7-12 overall, 5-8 in the Western AA). She doubled and scored on Nyman’s grounder in the first inning, and singled and came in on Stickney’s bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the third. 

That made it 2-0; Anderson followed with a three-run home run to center to make it 5-0. 

Anderson added an RBI single in Flathead’s three-run fourth inning, and Nyman hit a two-run home run, her fourth, in the fifth inning. 

Kaylee Hopfauf had the lone hit for Hellgate (0-16, 0-13), a single in the second — though Hellgate’s Gamechanger had the play as an error. Stickney faced 16 batters in the run-rule game and struck out 11.
