Trout Unlimited sets Fin Fest for May 16

Reel in some fun May 16 at Flathead Fin Fest 2026 at Snappy’s in Evergreen. 

The public is invited to attend the free Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited event and children 10 and under are encouraged to try their hand at catching trout in the fishing pond behind Snappy’s. Rods and reels will be available for use and Trout Unlimited chapter members will be available to help children with fishing. 

A free fly casting clinic will be held for beginners. Fly tying demonstrations, aquatic insect identification activities, raffles and a silent auction with several guided fishing trips up for bid, are also planned.   

A fishing gear sale will also be held and includes rods, reels, tackle, flies, waders and fly tying materials along with some camping and hunting gear.  

“We are selling this stuff at bargain prices.  Many items are just $1,” said Beth Gardner, a board member of the Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited chapter. 

The Flathead Fin Fest will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and food trucks will be on site. Snappy’s is located at 1400 U.S. 2.
