Lady Trojans gear up for divisional playoffs

The Troy softball team opened the week with a strong win over Eureka before dropping four games against Ennis and Three Forks to move to 11-9 on the season.
The Lady Trojans beat Lincoln County 11-1 on Tuesday, May 5, then fell to Ennis 4-3 and 12-5 on Friday. Troy closed the week Saturday with 14-4 and 18-13 losses to Three Forks.
Troy started the week with a complete effort against Eureka. The Lady Trojans scored two runs in the first inning, five in the third and four in the fourth to pull away for the 11-1 win in five innings.
Kirsti Jellesed led Troy at the plate, going 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Addyson Fisher added two hits, two runs and an RBI, while Ellie Borgmann had two hits and two runs.
Hailey Dungan went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored and a double. Halle Wallace added a hit, an RBI and a run, while Ainsley Huitron doubled and drove in two runs.
Wallace earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four and walking three in five innings.
Troy opened Friday’s doubleheader against Ennis with a 4-3 loss. The Lady Trojans trailed 4-1 after four innings but scored once in the fifth and once in the sixth before coming up short.
Allie Borgmann led Troy with a home run and a triple, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run. Hailey Dungan added two hits and a run.
Halle Wallace pitched all six innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out four and walking two.
In the second game against Ennis, Troy fell 12-5. The Lady Trojans scored three runs in the first inning and added single runs in the second and sixth, but Ennis used a six-run seventh to take control.
Troy finished with 11 hits. Ellah Wallace went 2 for 4 with two runs and a triple, while Kirsti Jellesed had two hits, an RBI and a run. Ainsley Huitron added two hits and scored a run. Claira Folkerts and Hailey Dungan doubled in the matchup.
Folkerts took the loss in the circle, allowing 12 runs, three earned, on nine hits.
Against Three Forks on Saturday, Troy dropped the opener 14-4 in five innings. The Wolves scored 10 runs in the second inning, and the Lady Trojans were unable to recover.
Troy scored two runs in the third and two in the fourth. Addyson Fisher went 2 for 3, while Kirsti Jellesed had a triple, an RBI and a run. Ellie Borgmann added a hit and scored a run and batted in a run.
In the final game of the week, Troy’s offense broke through for 12 hits, but Three Forks held on for an 18-13 win.
The Lady Trojans scored in six of seven innings, including five runs in the fifth. Three Forks answered with a four runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh inning.
Ellah Wallace went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs, while Addyson Fisher finished with two hits, an RBI and a run. Ainsley Huitron had two hits, two RBIs and three runs.
Ellie Borgmann and Claira Folkerts each had two hits, while Kirtsi Jellesed scored twice and drove in a run.
The Western B/C Divisional Tournament is scheduled for May 22-23 in Anaconda. The top four teams from the North and South will compete for a berth in the state tourney, which will be May 28-30 in Billings. A top four finish at the divisional ensures a berth at state.
