Janet Marie Bennett Bouse, 76, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. 

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 602 Schweitzer Cutoff Road, Sandpoint. Burial will follow at the Pack River Cemetery.

Janet was born on June 27, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, to Lloyd and Dorothy (Phillips) Bennett and moved to Vay, Idaho, at the age of one. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1968 receiving a music award in choir. She later attended Ricks College, where she earned a degree in 1973.

Janet married Daniel Bouse on June 30, 1976, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She worked at P&E Woodworking and A&W Restaurants before spending 23 years in the garden center at Walmart.

Janet was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served for many years sharing her love of music by directing and singing in the choir, helping the Boy Scouts, and in the different children’s programs. She loved raising her family and enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, training and riding horses.

Janet is survived by her husband, Dan Bouse of Ponderay; her children, Zephaniah (Laura) Bouse of Blackfoot, Idaho; Isaac (Jessica) Bouse of Tri-Cities, Washington; Christina (Jeremy) Roos of Santaquin, Utah; Leroy (Heather) Bouse of Sandpoint; Daniel Bouse of Sandpoint; Melvin (Sarah) Bouse of Omaha, Nebraska; Matthew (Megan) Bouse of Sagle; and Kaleb Bouse of Sandpoint; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Kathy (Gordon) Hill of Lehi, Utah; Judy (Richard) Scott of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Patti (Gary) Withers of Davenport, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Shelton Bennett; and her grandson, Mac Bouse.
