BONNER — Kyler Croft hit a solo home run and Glacier scored 11 runs over the final two innings to grab a 13-2 victory over Missoula Hellgate Saturday in a Western AA baseball showdown at Kelley Pine.
Leading 2-0 in the fourth, Croft blasted the first pitch of the inning over the center field fence to extend the advantage. Glacier (12-6 overall, 6-4 in Western AA games) added two-RBI singles from Kaeden Kahler and Beau Schulz as seven Wolfpack runs came across in the frame to give Glacier a 9-0 lead.
Andrew Richardson pulled a pair of runs for Hellgate (5-11, 2-8 in conf.) back with a big fly to center in the bottom half of the inning, but that is all the offense that the Knights would get.
Kahler added a two-run double in the fifth to extend the lead to 12-2.
The game ended after five innings due to the run rule.
On the mound, Croft threw four innings, striking out seven and allowing two runs.
Kahler tossed one inning and allowed one hit. He fanned one.
The teams will meet again next week in a Western AA playoff game at Griffin Field in Kalispell; a date and time for the game has not been announced.
