Spartans hold Braves to 2 hits in 10-0 victory

MISSOULA — Sentinel used a five-run fifth inning to pull away from Flathead for a 10-0 win Saturday in Western AA high school baseball.
Sentinel (10-8) scored in four different innings and limited Flathead (7-13) to two hits in the regular-season finale.
The Spartans opened the scoring in the first inning after an error brought in a run. Sentinel added two more in the third, one coming in when Marek Hall singled down the left-field line.
Flathead starter Eli Coopman kept the Braves within reach through four innings. Coopman allowed five runs — only one earned — on six hits while striking out four and walking one.
Sentinel broke the game open in the fifth. Paxson Onstot was hit by a pitch to force in a run, Josh Wood followed with an RBI single. Two more runs scored via wild pitches and Owen Dale added an RBI single.
Devin Leary earned the win for Sentinel, throwing five shutout innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
Hunter Fann and Leum Saisbury had Flathead’s two hits.
Stellan Ridley and Hall led Sentinel with two hits apiece.
