WENATCHEE — The NCW Libraries will be taking its books on the road again this summer with an updated schedule for the system’s bookmobile in Grant, Douglas and Chelan counties.

“The bookmobile is part of NCW Libraries’ ongoing efforts to make library services more accessible to rural communities, families, seniors and residents who may face barriers to visiting a physical branch,” said Michelle McNiel, NCW Libraries public relations specialist, in a press release.

The revised schedule begins June 1.

The bookmobile will be open for business in Doolittle Dream Park on Patton Boulevard north of Moses Lake at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. It visits the Wilson Creek Town Hall at 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday as well.

The bookmobile already makes stops at Desert Aire Park and the Beverly fire station, the press release said, and that schedule will continue.

The bookmobile also has a regular schedule for assisted living facilities and job sites. They include the Columbia Basin Job Corps site on Patton Boulevard and the Sunrise Community Facility in Ephrata.

Bookmobile patrons can check out books, movies and audiobooks, with crafts and other activities included, the press release said. People can obtain a library card, use free wi-fi and sign up for the summer reading program.
