LIND — A Lind man was booked on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence, Monday after he allegedly broke windows on a victim’s car and prevented the person from leaving, according to release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies eventually were required to use a taser while arresting Gage Remington, 23, the ACSO statement said.

The incident was reported at about 5:20 a.m. Remington allegedly was armed with an axe and an air pistol, Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner said in the release.

“It was reported that the subject had damaged the vehicle by shooting out a window, preventing the victim from leaving the scene,” Wagner said.

When deputies arrived, Remington was carrying an axe, he said.

“Deputies gave multiple lawful commands and advised him he was under arrest; however, he refused to comply,” Wagner said. “Due to the immediate safety concerns and the subject being armed, deputies deployed less lethal shotgun projectiles in an attempt to safely take him into custody. The subject continued to resist after being struck.”

Deputies then used a taser and Remington was arrested, Wagner said. He was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.

Remington was booked on the assault charge as well as harassment, domestic violence; third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, and obstructing law enforcement, the ACSO release said.
