SANDPOINT — The SHS Grad Night Parent Committee reports steady progress in its 2026 fundraising campaign as it works toward a $270 per student goal for this year’s senior celebration.

As of this writing, the committee has raised around $34,000, with major support from top donors: the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, Bonner County Fairgrounds, Glahe & Associates and Truck’N Delicious. Organizers say the early fundraising success highlights the community’s continued commitment to supporting SHS seniors and the long-standing Grad Night tradition, which began in 1974.

This year’s event, themed as a “summer send off,” will provide approximately 260 graduating seniors with a safe, drug- and alcohol-free celebration following commencement.

“Grad Night is more than just an event. It’s a celebration of everything our seniors have accomplished and experienced together,” Committee President Justin Kropf said. “Every donation and partnership helps create a night they will carry with them for a lifetime.”

The committee’s goal is for every student to leave with unforgettable memories and exciting gifts they may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive. Senior prizes often include items such as iPads, e-bikes and kayaks.

The overnight “lock-in” event creates an amazing entertainment space featuring interactive activities and attractions. Past events have included a faux casino, mechanical bull and themed experiences organized with community partners.

“The success of Grad Night depends on the generosity of this close-knit and supportive community,” Kropf said. “We are grateful for every person and business that helps make this possible.”
