Bonney leads Devils on to Western C

Junior standout Sandy Bonney won second place in three separate events to lead Noxon Red Devil track and field teams at the District 14C meet in Missoula last week, advancing on to this week’s combined Western C/Western B divisional meet, also at MCPS beginning Friday.
Led by Bonney, the Noxon girls scored 55 team points to finish fourth in 14C team scoring. The Noxon boys scored 14 team points to tie Two Eagle River for sixth place on the other side of the meet.
Bonney won second place in the shot put (28 feet, 9.5 inches) and in the javelin (101-6) Friday, and second in the long jump (14-7.5) Saturday to score 24 of Noxon’s team points in the girls meet.
Georgie Boehme won second place in the 400 meter run and fifth place in the discus, Abby Yoder took second in the 800 and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles, and Emily Yoder placed fourth in the 400 for the Devil girls’ other individual points in the 14C meet.
The Yoder sisters joined Boehme and Shiloh Huntsman to place second in the 1600 meter relay.
With the Red Devil boys, sophomore Zane Brown placed in three events (fourth in the 110 meter hurdles, fourth in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 400) and eighth grader Vance Brown placed in two (winning fifth in the discus and sixth in the shot put) led Noxon.
Senior Bran Parrish won sixth place in the 400 meters to complete scoring for Noxon in the 14C meet.

Frank, Weaver named All-Star alternatives
Sheldon Frank and Dallas Weaver of the Noxon-Thompson Falls Red Devils have been named as alternates on the West team for the 2026 Montana All-Star High School baseball game to be played at Legends Stadium in Butte August 15.

Busy North team takes 2nd at Deer Park tourney
From Coeur d‘Alene to Deer Park, the North softball team, including players from Thompson Falls, Noxon, Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, travels well, and have continued tearing up the basepaths at tournaments since the high school season ended.
